Reading tarot cards is both an art and a science. Reading tarot cards is an art form that both requires and enhances the development of intuitive and psychic abilities. There are so many decks out there, and so many different spreads assigning a specific meaning for tarot cards, across all decks and spreads, is quite impossible. The more you work with a specific deck, the greater your connection with that deck will be. The word Tarot is a disguised word. It was originally spelled ìRota,î which means wheel, because the deck represents the wheel of life. Tarot will also help you make better decisions around the kinds of problems that logic can't handle. When you receive a Tarot reading the meanings of the cards you get will stimulate insight into whatever situation or relationship was on your mind when you picked your cards. A sincere effort to read between the lines brings out the wisdom you need from inside of you where it resided all along. Hi dgss Most tarot decks come with there own version (book) yet they are sometimes similar in meaning.. I think People that are new to Tarot think they have to memorize each card..There is a meaning behind each card although after you get used to your deck "whichever you choose" you will find yourself reading more "intuitively" so to to speak.. Here is a link to what is called "the fools Journey" it is a version of the story behind the cards.. www.learntarot.com/journey.htmI use a deck called The "Guilded Tarot".. I have tried many decks and am always drawn back to this one. Here is a link to what My deck looks like also this is a great Tarot site .. You can preview decks and there is loads of information on here........ www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/gilded/Hope this helps answer your question and let us know how your doing...

Some people do get freaked out by the tarot cards..that's for sure! You have been reading for a while! Maybe you can post some advice for beginners? What deck do use? Do you always use the same deck? I know some readers that will use several decks depending on who they are reading..

hi ghostz, yup, got into readings an all kinds of stuff when i was out east for 5 yrs. as for the decks, i use only one ,they picked me. don't laugh, the best why to find one, is to find a place that has a lot of different decks. take your time , you will be drawn to one more than the others.

Maybe we should start a tarot reading thread? We could learn and practice reading each other? Anyone interested?

I have never had a reading done, is it hard to learn? Hi, it is never to late to start something. I think when you have an open mind and when you want to learn it, then you can manage it. It might take some practicing and time though. When you have a look at www.astrosofa.com/horoscopes/daily-horoscope you can find some good explanation in the magazine section. I'm practicing tarot for about five years now and I like it very much! Have fun exploring! Juliana
